The Little Star's Wish

Once upon a time, in the vast, twinkling sky, there was a tiny star named Twila. Twila was the smallest star in her cluster, but she had the biggest, brightest dreams. Every night, she would watch the other stars shine boldly and wished she could sparkle just as brilliantly.

One evening, as Twila gazed down at Earth, she noticed a little girl standing by her window, eyes closed, hands clasped, whispering a wish. Curious, Twila leaned closer and listened.

"I wish I could find my lost teddy bear," the little girl murmured. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she looked up at the sky, hoping for a miracle.

Twila's heart twinkled with compassion. She wanted to help the little girl, but she was just a tiny star. What could she possibly do?

Just then, the Moon, who was wise and kind, floated by and saw Twila’s worried face.
"What's troubling you, little one?" the Moon asked in his gentle voice.

Twila explained, "I want to help that little girl find her teddy bear, but I'm not bright enough to guide her."

The Moon smiled warmly. "You don’t need to be the brightest to make a difference. Sometimes, even the smallest light can lead the way."

With newfound courage, Twila focused all her sparkle on shining just a little brighter. She gathered all her love and hope, beaming down a gentle glow right into the little girl's room.

The little girl saw Twila's light shimmering softly on her toy chest. Curious, she walked over, opened it, and there, underneath her old blanket, was her lost teddy bear! Her face lit up with joy as she hugged her bear tightly.

"Thank you, little star," she whispered up at the sky, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

Up above, Twila felt her heart burst with pride and joy. She realized she didn’t need to be the brightest star to be special—she just needed to shine with love.

From that night on, Twila glowed a little brighter, not because she was the biggest star, but because she had the warmest heart.

And every evening, she looked for more wishes to light the way.
